MA, LCMHCA
Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate
Hello, my name is Victoria Marie. While what brings you to reading this page today has been a challenging experience, I hope this will be the turning point you’ve been looking for. As a counselor, my goal is to help you in this journey by cultivating the skills necessary. I believe that building and nurturing relationships is the most important aspect of my day, and I would be honored to live this out with you and whatever you find yourself going through.
How I Help
Together we will explore the difficulties that you are currently facing while also taking into consideration your current strategies for handling daily situations. Taking a closer look at how we have arrived at this point in life can be useful to move in the right direction. Counseling is a collaboration that takes time and effort. It can often be one of the most meaningful decisions you can make for your personal growth.
My Specialties
Trauma/Grief
There are times in life that nothing could prepare you for, and addressing these experiences can feel immobilizing. Trauma and grief are not exceptions. Together, we will create a safe space to process what you have experienced, understand how it may be affecting your emotions, relationships, and daily life, and develop healthy ways of coping when things feel overwhelming.
When you are ready, we can also explore more deeply how painful experiences may have shaped the way you see yourself, relate to others, or respond to the world around you. Sometimes the impact of trauma or loss reaches beyond the experience itself, influencing patterns, beliefs, and ways of coping that once helped us survive but may no longer be serving us. Together, we can begin to understand these deeper connections and work toward new ways of moving forward.
We will walk through this process at your pace, helping you feel more grounded, connected, and hopeful as you move toward the peace you are yearning for.
Depression/Anxiety
Whether you have lost your zeal for the things you once enjoyed or feel pulled in 75 directions at once, anxiety and depression can make it difficult to feel like yourself. Together, we will look at the patterns, experiences, and thoughts that may be contributing to the challenges you are facing. We will work on practical strategies for managing difficult emotions, challenging unhelpful thought patterns, and developing healthier ways of responding to stress.
If you are open to going a little deeper, we can also explore what may be underneath your anxiety or depression—the experiences, relationships, beliefs, or patterns that have shaped how you see yourself and respond to the world around you. Understanding where these struggles come from can help create meaningful and lasting change, rather than simply managing the symptoms. My goal is to help you build a stronger foundation so that you can move toward the life you imagine is possible.
Teens
Being a teenager in the modern world can feel like being on a sinking ship. Navigating the nuances of school, friendships, social media, maturing, and the behind-the-scenes of family life can leave you feeling overwhelmed, misunderstood, or simply worn down. The truth is, you don’t have to manage this on your own.
Counseling can provide a safe place to talk honestly about what you are experiencing while learning skills to manage stress, anxiety, difficult emotions, relationships, and the pressures of everyday life. As a therapist, I will journey with you as you better understand yourself, recognize your strengths, and develop tools that can help you navigate challenges with greater confidence. The life you are looking for is worth working toward.
More About Me
Finding a healthy balance in life is one of my main missions. When I’m not in the office, you’ll most likely find me in the chapel, on my bike on the Greenway, making some fun craft in the studio, or in the kitchen creating a masterpiece for my family and friends!
